Oswego County residents will have the opportunity to weigh in on the proposed 2011 spending plan at 7 p.m. Dec. 9. . A couple attempts to create more savings at Wednesday’s legislature meeting failed. Plans to purchase 12 new vehilces for the sheriff’s department and new furniture for the DSS moved forward.
The state has suspended the license of an Oswego physician.
Dr. David Granoff, an ear, nose and throat specialist, has agreed to an indefinite suspension.
The state is shutting down its central registry of dogs at the end of this year, one of many changes brought on by budget cuts.
The registry is going away, but the need to register dogs has not gone away.

The district is in its third year of this continuing program. It is basically a calendar-based system of collecting information so teachers are actually writing down month by month what they are teaching … it’s a way of collecting information in real time, what is being taught in every single grad level.
Reginald Stepp of Syracuse pleaded guilty in Onondaga County Court to felony aggravated cruelty to animals for beating the pit bull puppy so severely that its jaw was nearly ripped off. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to six months in jail.
