OSWEGO COUNTY – The New York State Police are investigating a fatal single motorcycle crash that occurred on Saturday, July 11, 2026, in the town of Mexico, Oswego County.
At approximately 2:14 p.m., State Police from Hastings responded to State Route 3 at Munger Hill Road for a reported motorcycle crash.
A preliminary investigation determined that the operator of a southbound motorcycle attempted to pass another vehicle before failing to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway, struck a tree, and ejected the operator.
The operator, identified as Dalton J. Cummins, 17, of Mexico, was transported to Upstate University Hospital with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
