Citizens for Family Farms is “conducting an aggressive campaign to generate opposition to Bion’s proposed environmentally sustainable livestock/renewable energy project.” They continue to grossly misrepresent Bion’s project to all who will listen, while ignoring the actual facts, according to Bion.
City Considering Firms For Wastewater Treatment Plant Project
At their Sept. 7 committee meeting, councilors will likely recommend which firm they want for the upgrade of the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant. Members of the Common Council and other city officials heard presentations Monday night from the two firms in the running for the project.
Fulton Council Rejects Plan to Change Downtown Parking Rules
For weeks, the owner of the downtown Fulton restaurant The Tavern on the Lock has wanted an answer. Will the city end all day parking in the lot next to his building?
The Common Council held a public hearing more than a month ago but took no vote.
Two weeks ago, the matter did not make the Council’s agenda because two of seven members were absent.
Tuesday night, the item was finally on the agenda.

Eastside Oswego Man Facing Felony Burglary Charge
On Aug. 15, at about 4:46 a.m., Oswego Police responded to a burglary in progress call at an East Seventh Street address in which the suspect was being chased from the scene by civilians. Upon arrival, police located the suspect who had fallen and injured his leg.
Major Union Won’t Endorse Aubertine
The New York State AFL-CIO sent a strong signal to State Senator Darrel Aubertine that union leaders are disappointed in him.
The union issued scores of endorsements Monday in races ranging from the Governor’s race to the dozens of State Assembly contests.
But in his district, two words: No endorsement.
Councilors Eye Modifications To Parking Policy
“There were concerned residents and business owners who wanted to discuss the parking policy. We had four meetings and recommendations were made to modify the policy,†explained Councilor Cathy Santos, chair of the parking committee. The four areas of concern were snow removal, access for the public to downtown businesses, guest parking and parking fees, she told the councilors.
