Oswego School Board Hires Binghamton Attorney To Sue Over NiMi I Tax Deal

UPDATED: Following an executive session Monday night, the Oswego City School District board of education voted 6-1 to sue over the tax agreement for Nine Mile Point Unit I. They hired Binghamton real estate and assessment attorney Paul Sheppard. â€œAt this time, we are investigating the proper vehicle for challenging the tax assessment agreement regarding the Nine Mile Point No. 1 facility,â€ explained Bill Crist, superintendent.

Fulton to Press its Hospital Property Claim in Bankruptcy Court

Oswego Health wanted the city of Fulton to simply give up any right it might have to the land beneath the former Lee Memorial Hospital.Â Citizens at a public meeting last week said the city should force Oswego Health to buy the land.

The city might just be splitting the difference with its decision Monday night to ask a bankruptcy court judge to make the land issue part of Lee Memorial’s bankruptcy proceeding.

After a slight reprieve over the weekend, the heat and humidity will sneak back in this week. Todayâ€™s high will be in the mid-80s. It will â€˜coolâ€™ off to about 80 Tuesday before temperatures shoot back up to the mid and upper 80s later this week. Donâ€™t be surprised if we hit 90 again.

Stolen Car Stop Leads to Chase From Fulton to Tully

The police department reports that Sunday evening, someone alleged that their car had been stolen during the day. At 10:07 p.m., a Fulton police officer spotted the vehicle on S. First St. near Rochester St. and tried to get the driver to pull over.
