A new boxing club in the Port City teaches youngsters the basics of the sport – but also stresses the importance of a good education. Focusing on leadership and responsibility, the organizer hopes to curb some of the city’s troubles with youth.
The City of Fulton Police Department announced that several of its officers will now be armed with TASERs. The department recently purchased 7 new TASERs, which hit the streets last week. Having recently completed department training, a limited number of Fulton police officers will begin carrying the devices while on patrol.

The Oswego High School prom is Saturday night. However, this morning (May 7), juniors and seniors gathered to view a macabre demonstration of what could go wrong if alcohol and driving become part of the night.

On Saturday at 1:15 p.m., Harold Youmans will present a program on the 1814 British raid on Oswego at Fort Ontario State Historic Site. Youmans will use primary sources and present some new information and insights on the battle; he will discuss the strategies, available forces, execution, and results of the British efforts.
Oswego Health plans to turn the former Lee Memorial Hospital building into what its CEO calls “a shining star” of health care for the community.
CEO Ann Gilpin unveiled plans for a $17 million renovation of the building, which Oswego Health uses now for an urgent care center and some health services.
When the work is complete, the entire building will be in use.
