Non-Violent Crime Rises in Fulton, County; Violent Crime Keeps on Falling

Crime rose in the city of Fulton and throughout the county in 2009.  The rise was in the kinds of crime that cost money — burglary, theft and car stealing — and not in the kinds of crime that leave people hurt or dead.

New Program Combines Boxing, Education

Grant Lewis and Kahlil Jones prepare to spar. The two students at  the new gym say they are learning to box - but also the importance of  getting a good education.

A new boxing club in the Port City teaches youngsters the basics of the sport – but also stresses the importance of a good education. Focusing on leadership and responsibility, the organizer hopes to curb some of the city’s troubles with youth.
