City police are continuing to investigate a report of a man with a gun in the area of Leighton Elementary and Oswego High schools earlier today (Dec. 8). A subsequent on-scene investigation determined that one of the males had been in possession of a BB gun. At this time, no charges have been filed. But, the investigation is ongoing.

Fulton city officials are hoping modern technology lets them cut the city’s utility bill.
Mayor Ron Woodward said the city is studying whether LED-style lights can be used in some of the city’s street lights. LED lights burn a lot less energy and would save the city money on its National Grid utility bill.

Broadcaster Bob Gessner Dies In Florida; Left Legacy Of Local Programming
Bob Gessner fell in love with Oswego’s lake and stayed here long enough to see the things he loved about radio fall away. Gessner owned Oswego’s WSGO-AM until the mid 1990’s and built its FM sister — the last local radio station owners in Oswego County. He believed in local issues and put local ideas and local people on the air. Gessner died over the weekend, but the people who worked for him — including his daughter — say his impact will always be felt.
