Fulton Savings Bank Sponsors Fulton Student Athlete Of The Month

Fulton Savings Bank (FSB) awards the Student Athletes of the Month for February. Each month the Fulton City School District (FCSD) administration selects a male and female student/athlete who have excelled in both athletics and the classroom. Those selected receive a gift certificate to B&T Sports Shop, provided by the bank.

EPA Region 2 Announces Virtual Listening Session On PFAS Strategic Roadmap

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 2 will host a virtual listening session on March 30, 2023 to get feedback on EPA’s PFAS Strategic Roadmap from residents in EPA Region 2, which includes New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands communities and eight Indian Nations. In the session, EPA will provide information about EPA’s ongoing work under the PFAS Strategic Roadmap (2021-2024) and will ask for feedback on this work. In November 2022, EPA announced that the Agency would hold a series of virtual regional community engagement sessions in 2023 to fulfill a key commitment outlined in the PFAS Strategic Roadmap.

DEC Releases Draft Solid Waste Management Plan

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Basil Seggos today announced the release of the draft New York State Solid Waste Management Plan for a 60-day public comment period. The “New York State Solid Waste Management Plan: Building the Circular Economy Through Sustainable Materials Management” recommends actions to reduce the climate impact of solid waste and provides direction for New York’s waste reduction, reuse, recycling, collection, transportation, and disposal investments, policies, and practices over the next decade.

Fulton Man Arrested For Multiple Sex Crimes

On March 6, 2023, the City of Fulton Police were contacted by a concerned parent regarding their daughter being involved in an inappropriate relationship with an older man who she worked with.  An investigation began and it was learned that the suspect was a manager at the McDonald’s in Fulton, and he had sexual contact with two 16 year old victims, who worked at the restaurant as well. A third, 18 year old co-worker was also identified as a victim.

Oswego Fire Department, Others Battle Early Morning Blaze

Today at 3:11 a.m., Oswego County 911 was alerted to a structure fire at 39 West Bridge Street, City of Oswego. Oswego Firefighters and Police Officers arrived quickly to find heavy smoke and fire in the rear of a second story apartment. One occupant was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape without injury. Oswego Police Officers quickly evacuated nearby buildings and escorted occupants to safety.
