SUNY Oswego Graduate Student Helps Bring Fort Ontario History Alive

Visitors to Oswego’s historic Fort Ontario will get to see past and present merge, thanks to an augmented reality project by a SUNY Oswego graduate student. Theodore Johnson, a student in the master’s in human-computer interaction program, completed the project thanks to a grant from the college’s new Impact Scholars program, robust archives and expert teamwork.

Arrest Made In OHS Incident

The Oswego City Police Department’s School Resource Officer, working with Oswego City School District officials, identified the suspect in Wednesday’s (September 4) incident in which a call was made to 911 regarding a gun at the Oswego High School prompting the school to go into lockdown. The suspect who placed the 911 call reporting a false incident was identified as a 14-year-old boy. He is an OHS student.

County: Mosquito Population has Declined, EEE Still Present in Oswego County

The latest test results of mosquito samples collected near the Toad Harbor Swamp in the town of West Monroe show that the Eastern equine encephalitis virus is still present in the environment, Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang said.
