County Man Arrested On Animal Cruelty Charges
On February 20, State Police responded to 899 County Route 48 in the town of Albion for a report of possible animal abuse. Three dogs, each housed in a small crate, were found covered in their own feces. A fourth had died and was in a garbage bag outside the residence.

Fulton Hoops for Hope: Sponsorships Available to Benefit Local Cancer Organizations
The third annual Fulton Hoops for Hope basketball game is set for April 5. This year, event creators Jessica Cretaro and Derek Lyons hope to raise $10,000 to give back to those affected by cancer. Business sponsorships are being accepted for the event through March 20. Any business that provides a sponsorship of $100 or more will have their business logo printed on the back of all event t-shirts.

Construction Begins On New Oswego County DMV and Records Center
Site preparations are already under way and construction is imminent on the expansion and renovation to the existing Oswego County Records Center and Oswego Department of Motor Vehicles office at 384 E. River Road, Oswego. As such, the Records Center will be closed to the public during construction.

Oswego Passes Expansion Of Tax Exemption Eligibility For Senior Citizens
Mayor Billy Barlow proposed, and the council voted to update and expand several tax exemptions for Oswego residents 65 years old and older, likely living on fixed incomes. He also asked, and received, approval for two new tax exemptions to city residents.

State Police Investigating Three-Vehicle Crash Involving Oswego County DPW Snowplow
UPDATE: One of the drivers has died from his injuries.
The investigation has revealed that at approximately 2:40 p.m., today (February 25) a 2013 Toyota operated by Bert D. Hyland, 87, from Bernhards Bay, was traveling eastbound on State Route 49 in the town of West Monroe when he lost control on a snow-covered roadway crossing over the centerline and striking an Oswego County DOT snowplow.
