OPD Peacefully Resolves ‘Domestic Incident’

Today (October 28), at approximately 2:30 p.m., Oswego Police responded to an East Fourth Street residence regarding a third party report of a possible domestic incident in which one of the subjects may have been armed and possibly suicidal. Following a brief interview, the subject surrendered to police who took the adult male subject into custody under the NYS Mental Hygiene Law.

Police Identify Suspected Shooter, Victim Still Critical

Oswego Police Investigators, working with the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office, have charged 58-year-old Thomas E. Schrader of Oswego with the following: Attempted murder in the second degree. and
Assault in the first degree. The victim, also an Oswego resident, remains in Upstate Medical University Hospital in critical condition and is undergoing medical procedures, police said. The investigation remains on-going and anyone with information should contact Oswego Police at 315-343-1212.

Fulton Officials Thank Assemblyman Barclay for $100,000 Grant at Veterans Park

City officials invited NYS Assemblyman Will Barclay to Fulton to thank him for his work in securing a $100,000 legislative grant to install a stairway at Veterans Park. The cement stairway will connect Veterans Park on South First Street across from City Hall to the Oswego River waterfront. Barclay was welcomed by city officials, local volunteer effort leaders, and veterans as they commended him for his help in securing funds. “It’s very important to us because for years we’ve been trying to develop our waterfront,” Fulton Mayor Ronald Woodward Sr. said. “I’m really excited, I think the people of Fulton should give a lot of thanks to Assemblyman Barclay. He’s been very good for Fulton.”
