Mayor Barlow Proposes Partnership With County DSS To Ensure Safe Housing

Mayor Billy Barlow announced today (June 28) a proposed partnership between the city of Oswego and Oswego County Department of Social Services that will require a landlord receiving rental assistance payments for their tenants from the Oswego County Department of Social Services to demonstrate compliance with all city of Oswego laws and regulations and must possess a valid city of Oswego Rental Permit.

Haunted History Trail of New York State Wins 2018 PRism Award

The statewide tourism trail earned two recognitions for excellence in marketing and public relations – one first-place PRism Award and one Award of Excellence. The PRism was awarded for the Trail’s “Spooky” Social Media. In 2017, they hired Break the Ice Media, to create and execute a strategy around Facebook, Twitter and Instagram Channels, with a goal to increase reach, tap into new audiences and increase overnight visitation.

A Heat Wave Is Coming – Are You Ready?

A heat wave – three consecutive days of 90+ degrees – is forecast headed into the weekend with temperatures flaring up to near 100 for Sunday’s Independence Day Parade. Those most at risk for heat-related illness are young children and the elderly. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid 90s with high humidity on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Harborfest Updates Venues for 2018

“It has come to my attention that there have been some rumors floating around about there being only one venue at Harborfest. That is, of course, not true,” Amber Canbek, PR/Media Marketing Coordinator, said. ” There are three venues this year, instead of the five we’ve had in previous years.” Bands that were in River Walk have been rescheduled at different parks with different times.
