Hundreds Turn Out To Christen Oswego’s Dog Park

Moments after the Port City’s newest park was opened, it was filled with scores of canines running happily inside the two enclosures; sniffing all over while making new friends. The dogs, large and small and just about every bred imaginable romped in the playground built just for them – without any altercations. It prompted one pet owner to remark, “If only people could get along as well.” Oswego’s Dog Park is located at 375 Mitchell St., on the city’s east side.

Mayor Barlow Announces Opening Of City of Oswego Dog Park

Mayor Billy Barlow and the Oswego Common Council will host a ribbon cutting event for the grand opening of the city of Oswego Dog Park on Thursday (June 7). The city of Oswego Dog Park was a project Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow announced in his 2018 State of the City Address as a new public amenity to the Oswego community as the city works towards becoming a more attractive community for people to live, work and play.

Fulton PD Bike Rodeo Gives Away Free Helmets, Bikes

The Fulton Police Department held its annual Bike Rodeo to give away free helmets and promote bike safety. Each year, roughly 100 or more children participate in the free event, said Lieutenant Ralph McCann. The event allowed children to complete a bicycle safety obstacle course alongside a Fulton PD Bike Patrol Officer to learn the rules of the road and safe practices while bicycling.

ARISE Ride for Ramps Celebrates 10th Year of Fundraising

The sound of dozens of motorcycles echoed through Fulton as the ARISE Ride for Ramps fundraiser celebrated its 10th year at Lakeview Lanes. A fundraiser for the Oswego County Ramp Program, Saturday’s (June 2) event began with a four-hour motorcycle ride and followed up with food, music, and fun. “This is a great event because it gives people access to their community. It gives people access to their independence. And we couldn’t do it without all of you,” Tania Anderson, CEO of ARISE told the bikers before the head out on their ride.
