Groups Plan Festival To Honor ‘Madeline’ Author

Ludwig Bemelmans, author of the popular children’s books about the little girl named Madeline, served as a Private in the U.S. Army and was stationed at Fort Ontario in 1917. The 10-day Bemelmans Festival, May 12-21 will celebrate Bemelmans’s time in Oswego.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today (March 13) declared a state of emergency across all 62 counties in New York ahead of the extreme winter storm expected to bring heavy snowfall and high winds.
