The Fulton Common Council unanimously approved the proposed 2017 city budget after brief input during a public hearing held on Tuesday, December 6.
The Oswego Education Center’s move into a section of Leighton Elementary School is getting closer to becoming a reality. With the Education Center up for sale, and potential buyers kicking the tires, district officials are getting things in place to facilitate the move, according to Dr. Dean Goewey, superintendent.
Operators returned Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station Unit 2 to full power earlier today (Dec. 6), following a maintenance outage that started on November 24.

However, after nearly two hours of talk, the issue remains unresolved. The committee took no action.
The New York Lottery today (Dec. 5) announced a top prize winning ticket for the December 4 TAKE 5 drawing was sold at Byrne Dairy at 3739 Route 13 in Pulaski. The winning ticket is worth $19,393.50.
After November, when you see signs that advertise: “Get Your Flu Vaccine Here,” you might think, “Isn’t it too late for that?” However, the Oswego County Health Department advises that as long as flu viruses are spreading, it’s not too late to get a vaccine to protect yourself and your loved ones.
More than 500 SUNY Oswego students are eligible to take part in Dec. 17 Commencement ceremonies, ready to take Oswego experiences and preparation into their plans. SUNY Oswego’s December Commencement will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, in the Marano Campus Center convocation hall and arena.
Toys For Tots of Oswego County will hold its annual Tunes For Tots this month. The event will take place December 14 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. from 5 to 10 p.m. Toys For Tots’ sole purpose is to provide brand new unwrapped, non-violent toys and new books to the many children of the community.
On December 1, with the official countdown to Christmas underway, the city of Fulton held its annual tree lighting event to kick off the “most wonderful time of the year.” Families bundled up to watch the large tree across from City Hall be lit up in colorful lights by none other than Santa and Mrs. Claus while free donuts, popcorn, and hot chocolate played a part in keeping guests warm.
