Mayor Barlow Appoints Downtown Revitalization Committee

Mayor Billy Barlow announced the creation of the Downtown Revitalization Committee whose primary task will ensure the city of Oswego competes for Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. The Downtown Revitalization Initiative program will invest $10 million in ten communities throughout the state.

‘The Future’ of Oswego County Reflects on The Future

The Oswego County Legislature held its annual Youth Government Day recently and dozens of middle school students from around the county got the chance to take part in county government. Prior to the meeting, Legislator Shawn Doyle, of the county’s bicentennial committee, conducted a survey of the students. He asked the young students various questions about the county’s present and future.

The Fulton Police Department’s annual Bike Rodeo is going to be held June 4, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Fulton Community Center. This free event is focused on youth bicycle education and safety and there will be other information and attractions including air hop rides and food and drinks. Oswego, Fulton School Budgets Pass, Hayden, Lyons and Callen, Bell Elected to BOE

City residents turned out to their polling places today (May 17) to vote on the Fulton City School District 2016-2017 school budget and numerous other propositions including two open seats on the Board of Education. All propositions passed with a total of 967 voters. Oswego’s budget was also approved and two newcomers will join the school board.

A.G. Schneiderman, NYSP Superintendent D’Amico, Syracuse Police Chief Fowler Announce Takedown Of Statewide Drug Pipelines In ‘Operation Smackdown’

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman, New York State Police Superintendent Joseph A. D’Amico, and Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler today (May 17) announced the indictment of 72 people charged with operating two drug distribution rings: one that allegedly transported heroin, cocaine and narcotic pills between New York City and Syracuse; and a second that allegedly sold cocaine in the suburbs of Syracuse and in adjacent Oswego County.
