Richard Swierczek, Fulton’s ‘Music Man,’ Says Thank You

On August 24, I was guest conductor of the Fulton Community Band, at the invitation of its founder and director, Carol Fox. I thank Carol and the band, who were active participants and to the audience which included former members of the GRB Band, which I directed many years ago.

Their Purposes Fulfilled, The MSGW Foundation and Wilcox Mosquito Foundation Are Dissolved

We come to you today with so much love and appreciation for all of the strength and support that you have given us over the last six years; since the death of our beloved and dearly missed, Maggie Sue Wilcox. We have all heard about this I’m sure. We have all heard or read how our neighbor, the city of Oswego, has received money, lots of it, to accomplish its plan. It seems that no one is able to understand the chronic pain it causes as well as the strain it has put on people’s lives and families.

Oswego County Health Department Seeks Info on Littering of Used Needles and Syringes

As more and more people use needles and syringes to manage their medical conditions outside of hospitals and health centers, residents of many towns and villages have seen an increased number of improperly disposed of needles and syringes. Improper disposal of these medical “sharps” make all residents, especially children, vulnerable to serious injuries. To identify locations of these sharps, determine the needs of managing these medical wastes, and explore ways to make our community safe from medical-sharp-related health hazards, the Health Department will compile information about improperly disposed of needles and syringes throughout the county.
