Correcting ‘Holliday’s Lies’

I received Mark Holliday’s, nee Aldasch, pamphlet the other day and noticed some lies right off the bat. He starts out saying because the City of Fulton is considered “moderately fiscally stressed” we are bankrupt. That’s a lie. The city is not bankrupt. The fact is we improved our fiscal condition last year over the previous year.

Can We Make Fulton’s Downtown More Attractive As A Destination For Residents, Visitors?

While I enjoyed shopping at this year’s farmers’ market at its new location at Bullhead Point and talking with the vendors and meeting friends, I miss the attraction of the market downtown.
The market is more than a store; it’s a place for the community to come together. In a way it’s a community wide social event.

Managing Future Harmful Algal Blooms in Lake Neatahwanta

HABs occur when algae populations explode due to favorable environmental conditions: high sunlight and nutrient levels, and warm temperatures. This data point is cause for celebration for the board and the staff of the Fulton City School District, and it is an accomplishment resulting from the shared commitment of recent boards of education and all of our staff to our mission statement.

Fresh Air Fund Director Thanks Volunteer Families

I would like to take this opportunity to recognize our extraordinary Fresh Air volunteers, host families, and supporters in the New York Lakes region. Fresh Air host families open their hearts and homes, and offer a child an opportunity to see the world through a new lens. In turn, our host families tell us how much they learn and gain from the children they host. Many children return summer after summer and develop lifelong friendships with their host families.

Richard Swierczek, Fulton’s ‘Music Man,’ Says Thank You

On August 24, I was guest conductor of the Fulton Community Band, at the invitation of its founder and director, Carol Fox. First I want to thank Oswego County Today and Steve Chirello for the coverage. I thank Carol and the band, who were active participants and to the audience which included former members of the GRB Band, which I directed many years ago.

Their Purposes Fulfilled, The MSGW Foundation and Wilcox Mosquito Foundation Are Dissolved

We come to you today with so much love and appreciation for all of the strength and support that you have given us over the last six years; since the death of our beloved and dearly missed, Maggie Sue Wilcox. Now that all of their measures are solidly in place and all of the right people are hard at work, it is time for our rest and healing and remembering to begin. The MSGW Foundation and The Wilcox Mosquito Foundation (as well as our email and Facebook accounts) will now be dissolved and deactivated.
