A friend of mine was telling me that now they have marijuana medicine for dogs, just like for people. Is that true? I always thought you should NEVER give drugs to your dog and I NEVER have, but the times . . . are they a-changin’?

Sherlock and Watson, we presume, are about 7 months old with, as you can see, unique and complimentary coloring. Sherlock is black with white markings (and a carefully groomed mustache); Watson is white with black markings (and a white tipped tail). These brothers make a great pair and would love to be adopted together.

I keep reading about all the poor lost and abandoned pets in the wake of Hurricane Florence and then Michael. I would love to help out but I don’t know how.

Caesar is a handsome, six-month old Tuxedo. Doesn’t he look great with his bow tie? He is shy at first, but once he warms up to you he is very loyal and attached.

A stray cat showed up at my door last week, very pretty, very friendly. I posted her on Facebook, let all the local groomers and vets know and checked with all the nearby neighbors to see if I could find her owner, but no luck so far. She is long-haired and I have never had the “pleasure” of a long-haired cat.

Dirt bike got his name because he looked super rough around the edges and was very dirty when he was found. He also looked like he had suffered an eye injury before he was rescued. But, he has healed up fine with lots of good care and medications and there is no sign of any impairment to his sight. He cleaned up nicely too, didn’t he?

Last week, a dedicated reader wrote in about getting their first dog. Well, I just got my first dog. But, I don’t know if she’ll like me. I’m sure it’s as good of a match as any because we both enjoy the same activities – eating and sleeping, right?

Colin was found outside in the rain, caked in mud. He was sick, but his angel foster mom nursed him back to health, and now he is small for his 6 months but with no lingering health issues. He has tiny white patches on his chest and belly, and if you catch his fur in the right light, you can see black stripes in his black coat!

I adopted my first dog, Henry, this summer and I love him to pieces. But, I just discovered what probably everyone else in the dog universe already knew – dog pee wrecks lawns! I had no idea, but my lawn has brown spots all over it now and they are really ugly. Someone suggested that there is stuff you can buy that makes your dog’s pee less acid so it won’t burn the grass.
