Since the recession first hit, credit card use has slowed substantially. The Federal Reserve reported that consumer borrowing fell again in August as consumers cut back on credit card use for the 24th consecutive month.

Our area received a significant amount of federal dollars and because the stimulus money is now coming to an end, crafting this year’s state budget will be even more challenging because we will no longer have this federal money.
