On Tuesday night, the OHS Girls Hockey team traveled to Skaneateles to take on the defending Section III and State Champion Lakers. The Bucs jumped out to a great start, scoring just 18 seconds into the contest.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team defeated Oneonta by a score of 47-41 on Tuesday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the win, Oswego improves to 2-4 (1-1 SUNYAC) while Oneonta falls to 4-3 (1-2).
The Oswego State women’s basketball team fell to Oneonta by a score of 46-38 on Tuesday night at the Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the loss, Oswego drops to 2-6 (0-2 SUNYAC) on the season while Oneonta goes to 6-2 (2-1 SUNYAC).
Throughout the 2017 season, 138,000 cans were collected for the 13th annual addition of the Fan Can Chase which pushed the all-time total to nearly 1.4 million. This made for a total dollar amount of $8,300 which will be donated to charities.
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team shutout Brockport, 3-0 on Saturday night to remain perfect at home this season. With the win, the Lakers improve to 6-1-1 on the season. Cameron Berry sent the puck through traffic past the Golden Eagle goalie, putting the Lakers on the scoreboard and sending the teddy bears flying for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. The Lakers collected 736 bears to donate.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team followed up its home victory against Cortland with a 2-0 road win over the Red Dragons on Saturday. With the shutout, the Lakers improve to 5-6-0 on the season and an even 3-3-0 in NEWHL.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team opened its SUNYAC slate with a 77-70 loss at Cortland on Saturday afternoon. Oswego now holds a 1-4 mark on the year while the Red Dragons advance to 4-1.
The No. 5/7 Oswego State Lakers tied nationally-ranked Geneseo 2-2 in overtime in a top-10 road battle on Friday night in the Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena. With the draw, Oswego remains undefeated in the SUNYAC at 3-0-1 and moves to 5-1-1 overall. The Knights are now 7-2-1 on the year and 5-1-1 in league action.
