Elmira Defeats Lady Lakers

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 3-1, in its first SUNYAC matchup of the season on Friday evening. With the win, the Lakers improve to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Cortland falls to 0-3 overall and starts conference play with a 0-1 record.
Logan Rayvals, a third-generation driver from north of the border in Brockville, Ontario, put together a stellar rookie campaign at Oswego Speedway in 2017, becoming this year’s Novelis Supermodified Rookie of the Year. Driving the familiar Rayvals No. 94, driven for so many years by his father Craig, young Logan, who recently turned 21-years old, said this season was all about learning.
Fulton’s Junior Pee-Wee Pop Warner football team captured the CNY South title with a 28-7 victory over FM at Chittenango High School on October 29. The championship game was a rematch from the regular season where the Raiders outlasted the Hornets 24-20 at Recreation Park. Fulton finished the season with an 8-0 record en route to the organizations 9th CNY Championship.
With the winter sports season almost upon us, the Oswego Varsity Hockey team was looking to get a jump on some fundraising efforts to helps support some of its promotional nights that they are looking to hold this year; November 28th Teal Night, (Ovarian Cancer Awareness Night), and First Responder Night December 22, (Honoring First Responders throughout the area).
On Saturday, (Oct. 28), The Oswego Tier II Travel team sponsored by the Oswego Sub Shop defeated The Syracuse Blazers 12-2. The Blazers got on the board early with Kyle Debejian scoring just 16 seconds in on a clear breakaway, but The Sub Shop controlled the game from there. On Sunday Morning The Sub Shop Peewees battled rival Skaneateles at the Anthony J Crisafulli Rink. The Sub Shop again came out on top, this time in a much closer contest 3-2.

The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team opened its 2017-18 campaign with a come-from-behind 4-2 win over Elmira College on Saturday (Oct. 28) night in the Marano Campus Center Arena.
