Ahead of the 68th consecutive season of racing action at Oswego Speedway, track management is excited to introduce the ‘Heroes Among Us’ program to open at the start of the track’s 2018 campaign which begins with Opening Day set for May 26. ‘Heroes Among Us’ will give race fans the chance to nominate someone who they feel has gone above and beyond for the local community, Oswego Speedway, or in general.
With only one match this week we spent time on trying to keep our hitting game on point, and having a stronger net presence. We did what we set out to do. We had a lot of aces in the match and we had strong net control with a few point blocks and several kills on the stat sheet by the end of the third set.
The Billy Whittaker Cars 200 certainly lived up to the hype. In just over two hours’ time and 200 laps, everyone in attendance at Oswego Speedway for NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week was treated to everything they could have wanted with drama, frustration, heartbreak and celebration. A classic superhero battle between Super Matt Sheppard and Batman Peter Britten brought the crowd to their feet as Sheppard made a bold move on Britten in the last lap to pick up his second NAPA Super DIRT Week victory.
Mark Castiglia’s Missile Motorsports is excited to announce partnerships with drivers Anthony Losurdo and Dan Kapuscinski for the 2018 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super season at Oswego Speedway. Castiglia, who has six wins as a driver at Oswego, says plans are already well under way in preparation of fielding a two-car team next season.
On the final opportunity to lock into the the grand finale of NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Saturday, Fulton Speedway regular, Tom Sears Jr. rode the highline from the 11th-starting spot to take the victory in the DirtTrackDigest.com Win and You’re In to lock-in as the 41st start in the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 at Oswego Speedway on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Super DIRT Week resumes on today (Saturday, Oct. 7) with Pro Stock Time Trials and Last Chance Qualifiers for all divisions before the 358 Modified Great Outdoors RV 150 Championship.
The team came out quick and fast tonight, after our Fulton game the other night we lost a set due to our service errors in the third set when we were there the other night. Tonight we spoke about fast volleyball and aces – which would not allow our opponent to get into a rhythm.
Despite a rain out in mid-May the cars and stars of the Craftsman World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series are eager to return to New York State on October 15 as they take on Weedsport Speedway in the rescheduled Empire State Challenge.
