For the fourth consecutive season of action, national television coverage will return to Oswego Speedway. Announced earlier today (April 27) by NBC and NASCAR, NBCSN will broadcast title stretch runs for the NASCAR Whelen Modified and K&N Pro Series with this year’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour ‘Toyota Mod Classic’ at Oswego Speedway being included in the broadcast schedule.
The sights, sounds and smells of a new race season filled the Fulton Speedway for the test and tune on Saturday afternoon. More than 60 race teams showed off their cars making sure a long winter of hard work paid off. Now all eyes turn to the third annual ‘Highbank Holdup’ weekend on April 28-29.
For the first time, officials will adapt a new timed warmup system on regular race nights for both of the track’s weekly divisions.
Just weeks after announcing primary sponsor TJ Toyota, Chris Osetek of Osetek Racing Technologies has officially submitted a registration for his homebuilt No. 55 Supermodified, and driver Keith Shampine, into this year’s inaugural running of the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series presented by ASI Racewear.
The first half of the game we played very good defense but we did not take care of the ball on the offensive side the way we needed to. Half time we were able to chat and change our game plan up and needed to see the field better offensively. The second half we stuck with it and maintained better possessions and moved the ball better than we did in the first half.
The third year of Fulton Youth Basketball’s spring clinic brought an impressive roster of Fulton native basketball success stories to share their knowledge of the sport with today’s dedicated young players. This year, the clinic offered two hometown basketball experts to speak to the group and host a shooting clinic. Robin VanSchneider, the all-time leading scorer for women’s varsity basketball in Fulton and Kevin Broderick, current Nazareth College men’s basketball coach and former record setting coach at SUNY Oswego spread their expertise among the eager players.
The team sent 22 swimmers to Ithaca College to compete in the NYS YMCA Swimming Championships on March 17-19. It resulted in several great showings that included Mark Tallents bringing home a NYS YMCA Championship in the 100 yard breast stroke.
Veteran Supermodified driver and car builder Howard Page will make his return to racing in 2017, as he looks to take on the Shea Concrete Triple Crown Championship Series of Supermodified racing presented by ASI Racewear.
