Graham Racing announced this week that they have appointed Novelis Supermodified veteran and feature winner Pat Lavery as the driver of their Xtreme Chassis No. 91 machine for the 2016 season at Oswego Speedway, in search of their first Supermodified track championship.

The fourth-seeded Oswego State men’s ice hockey team cruised past No. 5 Brockport 8-0 in the first round of the SUNYAC Championship at the Marano Campus Center Arena on Wednesday night. Oswego advances to face rival and host Plattsburgh, the tournament’s No. 1 seed, at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the semifinal round.
The fourth seeded Oswego State men’s basketball team used a second half surge to send No. 5 Geneseo home with a 75-59 loss in the first round of the SUNYAC Championship on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. It is the sixth straight season the Lakers have reached the semifinal round of the conference tournament.

Two high schools from Oswego County traveled to Rochester on Saturday (Feb 20) to compete in the Winter Guard International Regional Competition at Gates Chili High School. At the WGI Regionals, Central Square High School (Varsity) and Oswego High School (Varsity) competed in the Scholastic A class, a group of 15 total schools from all over New York and one school from New Jersey. Both teams qualified for the finals after a prelim score of 70.080 placed Oswego in fifth place and a score of 72.110 placed Central Square in third place, missing second place by only two-tenths of a point.
Oswego Kartway veteran Tyler Thompson continued his indoor racing tour this winter by taking on four separate divisions as a part of the annual Motorama Kart Championships held at the PA Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa.
Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS drivers will once again compete for an opportunity to win a free custom helmet paint design for their efforts in the Speedway’s Shell Shock Designs Heat Race Challenge in 2016.

The Oswego State women’s basketball team closed out its season with a 75-53 loss at Cortland on Friday evening in Corey Gym. Oswego opened the game on a quick 5-0 spurt, coming on a jumper and 3-pointer from Courtney Ameele. Cortland responded with a 15-0 run of its own, a lead the Red Dragons would never relinquish.
