The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped its contest to the Red Dragons of Cortland, 80-69, on Saturday afternoon in Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the defeat, the Lakers fall to 3-12 and 1-7 in the conference.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team made it two wins against host Morrisville State College in as many days with Wednesday’s 6-1 rout. Oswego’s triumph improves its overall record to 9-3-3 while the Spartans, in their inaugural season, fall to 5-10-2.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team avenged last week’s home loss to Brockport by handing the Golden Eagles a 10-point loss, 84-74, on Tuesday night in Tuttle Gymnasium. With the victory, the Lakers improve to 10-4 overall and 3-4 in SUNYAC action.

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey home game against Geneseo, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Jan. 22, has been postponed. Oswego and Geneseo will instead meet at 7 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the Marano Campus Center Arena.

The Sportsman class at Fulton and Brewerton Speedway continues under the DIRTcar banner in 2016, and will play a pivotal role in the strengthened DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series. Four of the sixteen scheduled Sportsman series events will take place at either Brewerton or Fulton in conjunction with marquee Modified events.

The 60th running of Oswego Speedway’s International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds will utilize a new qualifying format, compared to recent seasons, in order to determine the starting lineup for the 200 to be run on September 4.

Oswego Kartway officials announced the tentative 2016 racing schedule and division structure for the Bullring. The Kartway’s tentative plans show at least 16 scheduled race meets, beginning in early May and running through the month of September, with a total of 12 point events on tap for the 2016 track championship.

The evening is casual dress and free to attend for race teams and fans with a chance to hang out with friends who you haven’t seen since the end of the race season in October. Driver point fund and trophies will be dispersed. Door prizes, announcements and drink specials throughout the night.
