The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team fell to Adrian College 5-4 in the NCAA Division III Championship quarterfinal on Saturday night in Arrington Ice Arena. Oswego will finish out its season with a record of 19-4-4. Adrian improves to 23-3-3 and will advance to the Frozen Four.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey program earned its first All-American on Thursday night as the Lakers’ lone senior, Bridget Smith, was named First Team All-America East by the American Hockey Coaches Association at the 2015 NCAA Division III Championship pre-tournament banquet in the Angell College Center’s Warren Ballrooms on Plattsburgh’s campus.
Bruce Racing and Oswego Speedway driver Mike Bruce will hold their Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super team fundraiser this Saturday at the Woodchuck Saloon, beginning at 1 p.m. The fundraiser will feature chicken BBQ and pulled pork dinners for $10, available for eat-in or take-out.
Oswego Speedway’s 2-Seat Supermodified ride schedule has been set for 2015, with former Supermodified pilots Dave Trytek and Dan Kapuscinski announced as drivers of the most exciting ride along in motorsports.

Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame member Ed Thompson passed away in the comfort of his own home, with family and friends by his side, early Friday morning. Calling hours are set for today (March 16) at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., from 4-7 p.m.
The Oswego State women’s lacrosse team opened its spring break trip with a 11-6 loss to Springfield College at Disney’s Wide World of Sports on Sunday afternoon. With the defeat, the Lakers fall to 2-3 on the year while the Pride goes to 5-2.
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated Hobart College 6-1 Saturday in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship. The win, which took place at The Cooler in Geneva, gives the team its 19th of the season and allows it to continue its postseason run. The Lakers will now travel to Michigan to take on Adrian College in the NCAA quarterfinal round.
The team was named Patriot National League Champions for the fourth consecutive year and head coach Melisa Jennings was named Coach of the Year by the league for the third year in a row.
