Nick Montesano of the men’s cross country and track and field teams has earned the Donald Snygg Award while Bridget Smith of the women’s ice hockey team nabbed the Oswego Woman Scholar Athlete Award.

For the third consecutive season, Oswego Speedway has ranked in the top five of Speed Sport Magazine’s My Favorite Track of North America poll, finishing in the fourth position overall. Speed Sport’s survey was conducted in late February through early March with the response being twice that received during last year’s poll and 10 times greater than the inaugural poll in 2012.
The Summer Championship will return to Oswego Speedway on July 18 with C’s Beverage Center of Oswego and CNY CPR of Baldwinsville presenting the action in the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions.
Oswego Speedway racing fundraisers are set for this upcoming weekend for both Novelis Supermodified veteran Jerry Curran and 2014 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super Rookie of the Year Camden Proud.
Reserved tickets are now on sale for Oswego Speedway’s highly anticipated Port City 160 ‘Super Spectacle’ presented by Corr/Pak Merchandising and Shea Concrete on May 23, featuring the rare opportunity to see the Novelis non-wing Supermodifieds and the winged ISMA Supermodifieds take on the ‘Steel Palace’ on the same night, with the running of the Jim Shampine Memorial 75 and ‘Irish’ Jack Murphy Memorial 50.
Proud Motorsports and 16-year-old driver Camden Proud will hold a chicken BBQ fundraiser on March 29 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego.
The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team fell to Adrian College 5-4 in the NCAA Division III Championship quarterfinal on Saturday night in Arrington Ice Arena. Oswego will finish out its season with a record of 19-4-4. Adrian improves to 23-3-3 and will advance to the Frozen Four.
