The Oswego State men’s basketball team had its second straight convincing performance at home, this time in the form of an 83-55 victory over Potsdam in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego’s triumph improves its season mark to 15-7 and 11-4 in league action while the Bears fall to 2-18, 1-13.
The Step One Creative Peewee Red hockey team of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association picked up wins over Cortland, Center State, and Rome this past week, and also recently battled to a second-place finish at the annual Mark Mowers Tournament held in Whitestown.

As Oswego Speedway’s 65th anniversary season inches ever closer, more than 40 teams have so far committed to the 2015 season at the Steel Palace, set to take the green flag on May 9 presented by Planet Fitness of Oswego and Mitchell’s Speedway Press.
SUNY Canton will continue its strong support at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways in 2015, its seventh consecutive year as a sponsor. SUNY Canton will continue as the divisional sponsor of the popular Sportsman division, this year at both Brewerton and Fulton.
Oswego Speedway and Oswego Kartway will be on display as a part of the 15th annual Great Eastern Whiteout on February 14 at the Fulton War Memorial. The antique and vintage snowmobile show and race meet is hosted by the Fulton Area Snow Travelers Snowmobile Club, and annually brings some 3,000 people to the area. The event is the second largest snowmobile show, by attendance, in the entire northeast, New England, and the Ohio Valley with highlights including more than 500 sleds on display, 30 plus vendors, a parts swap area, vintage sled rides, and races.
The No. 9 nationally-ranked Oswego State women’s ice hockey team downed visiting William Smith in a 5-1 contest on Sunday afternoon at the Marano Campus Center Arena. The win makes it five in a row for Oswego, improving to a 16-4-1 overall record and 12-3-1 in the conference.
The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team made it a clean sweep of the Morrisville State Mustangs with a 5-1 victory on Saturday night in the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego’s win is its 10th in conference action this season, improving to 10-1-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team put up a valiant fight until the final whistle, but its comeback fell just short, 81-75, to the host Bengals of Buffalo State. After splitting the SUNYAC weekend with Fredonia and Buffalo State, the Lakers are now 6-14 on the year and 4-9 in league action.
