A veteran of Supermodified and Small Block Super racing at Oswego Speedway, 2010 Pathfinder Bank SBS track champion Dave Cliff is looking to revive his Novelis Supermodified career at the Steel Palace in 2015, driving his family owned Gnomey Racing No. 06.
Oswego Speedway’s 65th anniversary celebration to be held on August 8, which will feature the return of Novelis Supermodified semi-final features as well as $5 admission, will be presented by long-time Speedway partners RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting and JP Jewelers of Oswego. Announced in November, the Speedway’s 65th anniversary night special on August 8 is sure to be a fan favorite with adult admission set at just $5 with kids 16 and under free.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team extended its win streak to nine games with a 2-1 win over Chatham University on Saturday afternoon in the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego’s nine-consecutive victories is the longest streak for the Lakers since the program was brought back during the 2006-07 season.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team is back on track, earning a 70-59 win against Potsdam on the road Saturday afternoon. This win gives the team a record of 10-4 overall and 6-1 in the SUNYAC.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team nabbed a 77-66 win at Potsdam on Saturday afternoon. The win improves the Lakers record to 5-9 overall and 3-4 in the conference.
The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team tallied late goals in the first and third periods in order to tie host Elmira College 2-2 in overtime on Friday night in the Murray Athletic Center Ice Arena. With the tie, the Lakers go to 10-2-3 on the year while the Soaring Eagles move to 7-5-3.
The Oswego State women’s ice hockey scored two goals in the final period to move past Chatham University 2-0 on Friday night in the Marano Campus Center Arena. With the conference victory, Oswego pushes its win streak to eight games and are 10-2-0 overall and 6-1-0 in ECAC West contests.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped its game 65-52 to Plattsburgh Friday evening. With the loss Oswego moves to 4-9 on the season and 2-4 in conference play.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team fell to Plattsburgh 70-66 on the road on Friday evening. This is the Lakers first loss in SUNYAC play, dropping their conference record to 5-1 and their overall to 9-4.
A veteran of racing at Oswego Speedway in both the Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super and Novelis Supermodified divisions, owner/driver Brian Sobus is looking to make a fulltime return to Supermodified action at the ‘Steel Palace’ in 2015 behind the wheel of the beautiful No. 79.
