The No. 4/4 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team completed a SUNYAC weekend sweep with a 7-1 victory over Fredonia on Saturday night at the Marano Campus Center Arena. Oswego’s win pushes its record to 12-2-3 overall and 7-1-1 in conference action while the Blue Devils drop to 4-8-5, 0-5-3.

The nationally-ranked Oswego State women’s ice hockey team’s 10-game unbeaten streak came to an end during a top-10 Saturday afternoon showdown, losing 4-0 to No. 1 Plattsburgh on the road. With the loss, the Lakers are now 11-3-1 on the year and 7-2-1 in ECAC West action.

The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team shut out Buffalo State 6-0 Friday evening at home in the Marano Campus Center Arena. With the win, Oswego moves to 11-2-3 on the year and more importantly, adds another win to its SUNYAC record (6-1-1).

Oswego Speedway’s 58th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 will re-air today (Jan. 22) at 7 p.m. on MAVTV’s Speed Sport. The show’s original airing on October 9 of last year, was the first national broadcast of Supermodified racing’s richest and most prestigious event, paying in excess of $100,000 in purse and contingency prizes to the 40 plus Novelis Supermodifieds that were in attendance to try and qualify for the coveted 34 starting positions.

Oswego Speedway’s popular Price Chopper ‘Tickets to Go’ program will continue in 2015 with discounted advance sale adult tickets going on sale at all Price Chopper Supermarkets locations beginning this spring. The Speedway and Price Chopper have teamed to offer this special discount for six of the regular season events at the fast 5/8 mile oval this season.

As the winter days click off and race teams are busy in their race shops so is the management of the tracks putting the final touches on an exciting race season that will be here before we know it.

Long-time Fulton and Brewerton Speedway sponsor, A-Verdi Storage Containers, has signed on to sponsor the four-race series of 360 sprint car races at the Fulton and Brewerton speedways in 2015. Dubbed the A-Verdi Fulton and Brewerton 360 Sprint Car Series, each track will play host to a pair of winged 360 Sprint Car events this year.

Mike Bruce, a three-time main event winner last season in Oswego Speedway’s Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super division, will be making an appearance at the Oswego Alliance Church Community Center Pinewood Derby Saturday, January 24. The derby is being held as a part of the Oswego Alliance Church AWANA program. The AWANA program at Oswego Alliance Church is for students ages two through sixth grade.

The Oswego State women’s basketball team took a tough 73-65 loss to Brockport on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the loss, the Lakers drop to 5-10 overall and 3-5 in SUNYAC contest while the Golden Eagles improve to 4-10, 2-5.
