Oswego Speedway and Turning Stone Resort Casino have announced the return of the popular ‘Favorite Driver’ contest for the upcoming 65th anniversary celebration at the ‘Steel Palace.’ The third year program will once again give fans an opportunity to give something back to their favorite driver at the conclusion of the 2015 racing season.
Before travelling to Atlantic City to take on the best in Champ Kart racing as a part of the Gambler’s Classic, Oswego Kartway veteran Nick Demling will first serve as a celebrity guest bartender at Greene’s in Oswego on January 27.
The Pro Race Cars Mod Lite class at Brewerton and Fulton speedway will return to a single class after running as a split class in 2014. As announced at the beginning of last year, the class will be governed in full by TUSA rules including the “Package A” engine rules that allow for only ‘Stock’ and ‘Spec’ engines to be used in competition.
The Step One Creative Peewee Red Hockey Team of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association continued their strong season with wins over Watertown, Salmon River, Auburn and Geneva, as well as a tie against league-leading and undefeated Binghamton.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team won in thrilling fashion Tuesday evening, defeating Oneonta 96-92 in double overtime. With the win, the Lakers boost its record to 7-3 on the year and 3-0 in the conference. Oneonta moves to 5-5 (2-1) on the season.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team was defeated 66-54 by visiting Oneonta on Tuesday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 3-7 overall and 1-2 in SUNYAC action while the Red Dragons improve to 7-3, 2-1.
Step One Creative has once again been named the primary sponsor of the Proud Motorsports #54 Chassis and driver Camden Proud for his upcoming sophomore season at the Oswego Speedway.
Longtime Oswego Speedway partner, BaccOff, will return in 2015 and is set to expand its exposure by becoming the sponsor of the weekly Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super Hard Luck Award at the Steel Palace.
The Oswego State women’s basketball team fell 79-75 to Nazareth on Sunday afternoon at Max Ziel Gymnasium. With the loss, Oswego moves to 3-6 on the season.
