When the concept was born for the ‘Wings & Warriors’ Series for the 2014 season featuring Big Block Modifieds and Sprint Cars at the Brewerton and Fulton Speedway, what took place Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway was exactly what they had in mind.

Two-time and defending Budweiser International Classic champion Bob Bond has registered for Fast Friday testing at Oswego Speedway and is expected to contend in the Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified Grand Prix 75 main event on Saturday presented by Seminis, Fleet Pride, and Canale Insurance.

Oswego Kartway returns to weekly championship action on Friday with racing getting under way at 7:30 p.m. All 13 of the Kartway’s divisions will be in action on Friday presented by MBR Speed Shop, located in Baldwinsville.

The Phoenix Central School District, in conjunction with the Phoenix Firebirds Sports Booster Club, honored athletes from the Birdlebough Class of 2014. More than 50 seniors were recognized for their participation in interscholastic athletics and several distinguished awards and scholarships were presented.

The second round of the 2014 Oswego Speedway and Novelis Fan Can Chase will take place on Saturday at the Speedway as a part of Christmas in July at the ‘Steel Palace’ from 3-6 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring their recyclable aluminum cans to the Speedway prior to racing and redeem those cans for a chance at Speedway race tickets and prizes.
