When Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodified Spring Championship, presented by Best Western PLUS/Quality Inn and Suites and U-Pull U-Save Auto Parts, takes the green on Saturday night, one deserving driver will leave with an extra $100 from the VFW Post 369 Men’s Auxiliary in Mexico.

Oswego Speedway will feature the return of the Spring Championship on Saturday and series point leaders Otto Sitterly and Andrew Schartner will lead the charge into the ‘Steel Palace.’

On the race card on Ehrlich Pest Control night will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, A-Verdi Storage Containers 305 Sprints and Hilton’s Automotive Four Cylinders.

Oswego Kartway’s first laps of feature racing action took place on May 23 presented by DS Humphreys. Unfortunately, only four divisions completed their main events due to a heavy rain shower that passed over the Kartway at the beginning of the Stock Light feature. The seven main events that were not completed will be made up over the course of the next two weeks at the Kartway.

The 14U Pride travel softball program will have its final tryout/commitment day from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on June 1 at the Oswego High School varsity softball field for any girl interested in playing 14-and-under Pride travel softball this summer.

The Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supermodified division at Oswego Speedway has a proven record of being an excellent feeder class for the premier Novelis Supermodified division. One driver looking to make the transition is 2012 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supermodified Champion, Kreig Heroth.

In the 35-lap Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modified feature after a spirited battle with his uncle Tom Sears Jr., Tim Sears took the lead with 10 laps to go and from there went on to the popular win on the Fulton “High Banks.”

Andrew Schartner had won nearly every major Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super event at Oswego Speedway, except the Tony White Memorial 35. That all changed Saturday night, as Schartner cruised to his second consecutive win of the season in the Crow Motorsports No. 18 Hedger and first career White Memorial championship presented by RJ Caruso Tax & Accounting and A&P Auto Parts.
