Oswego Speedway and Supermodified fans rejoice. Saturday’s weather forecast for the Port City of Oswego has dramatically improved, showing all potential rains to be out of the area by late morning, giving a full green light for the 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff on May 10 at the ‘Steel Palace.’
The first 250 mothers that walk into the Speedway’s main gate on Saturday will be presented with a beautiful carnation from Oswego Speedway and Designs of Elegance.
After two weeks of rains and wet grounds, Oswego Kartway will take another shot at opening their championship point season this Friday. Nearly 80 entries are expected this coming Friday at the Bullring, as teams prepare to earn points for season long track championship honors and other season ending awards.
A total of five Novelis Supermodifieds entered the pit area Tuesday evening in preparation for Saturday’s 53rd annual Novelis Supermodified Kickoff presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and Planet Fitness at the ‘Steel Palace.’ Lavery, Gruel, Brian Sweeney, Stephen Gioia III, and Jeff Abold all took laps on the fast 5/8 mile.
Oswego Speedway’s Eagles Fan Club and Chris Nelson Insurance have partnered to offer the $100 Hot Spot Giveaway to Speedway race teams in 2014. The Hot Spot Giveaway will provide a $100 check to one race team in the pit area over the course of ten weeks, running from May 10 through August 16.
Utilizing the AMB transponder scoring system, the fastest driver in Novelis Supermodified, ISMA Supermodified, and Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super competition at Oswego Speedway will be awarded a cash bonus at their yearend banquet.
Oswego Speedway’s Novelis Supermodifieds will take the green flag at the ‘Steel Palace’ for the 53rd consecutive season this Saturday, presented by Planet Fitness and Mitchell’s Speedway Press.
On the race card for opening points night will be the Tracey Road Equipment DIRTcar Modifieds, SUNY Canton Sportsman, NAPA Late Models, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman, A-Verdi Storage Containers 305 Sprints and Hilton’s Automotive Four-Cylinders.
