What a way to end the 2013 regular season at the Fulton Speedway Saturday. The night saw first time winners, a Modified team with no sponsors on the quarter panel go to victory lane, champions crowned, and one of the most popular drivers anywhere in Modified racing grab his first Fulton track championship.

For the second consecutive year, Oswego native Pat Lavery will lead the Budweiser International Classic field to green. Lavery laid down the fastest lap of the 32 drivers to take time on Friday night with a quick circuit of 16.223 seconds at 138.692 mph. The pole position effort is the third of Lavery’s career during Budweiser International Classic Weekend, adding to his runs in 2010 and 2012. The pole position run for Lavery earns him $1,000 from front row sponsor Corr/Pak Merchandising.
The Oswego High School golf team knew wins would be tough to come by in the early part of the 2013 season. Starting with five away matches in eight days, the team was literally thrown into league competition, on courses with which they were unfamiliar. Though they played well, Oswego lost its first two matches by a combined 15 shots. That all changed on Thursday at Liverpool.
This Saturday night, August 31st will be the final points night of the 2013 racing season as the Fulton Speedway will crown track champions. Right after that things will be put in high gear with all roads leading to the prestigious, 28th Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend at the route 57 speedway.
Friday will see a flurry of activity throughout the entire day with hot laps running from 11:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. as drivers in the Novelis Supermodified, Pathfinder Bank SBS, and RoC Modified divisions look to get valuable track time before qualifications at 6 p.m.
