The Oswego High School girls’ varsity volleyball team made the finals of tournament action while the swimmers were successful in invitational action, the golfers gained another victory and the football season commenced the new year.
Oswego Kartway’s Fall Frenzy Series, presented by RJ Kart Sales, took the green flag last Friday with Chris Natoli and Dick Dann driving to victory lane in the fall campaign’s featured divisions. Natoli bested a field of 12 Stock Heavy entrants to claim the opening win of the series, taking the top spot in the division standings.
Looking back on the history of an annual race in its early years, showing the cars and drivers that carved the way to what we have today, one of the best races in Modified racing anywhere. It’s fun for those who were there to recall great memories, and newer fans to see where we came from.
The Oswego High boys’ varsity golf team secured its second win of the season on Thursday, beating Cicero-North Syracuse on the road by a final count of 197-199. The victory took place at Beaumont Greens in Brewerton on a sun-filled day.
For the first time since 2005, Oswego Speedway’s championship point battles will be settled following Budweiser International Classic Weekend. Oswego Speedway’s Fall Championship returns on September 14 featuring the Davis Bros. Inc. ‘Open-Wheel Fall Finals’, which will crown track champions in the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS divisions for the 2013 season.
Oswego Kartway returns to action on Friday with the first round of the RJ Kart Sales Fall Frenzy Series. The three-week series will be the first of its kind at Oswego Kartway, and will culminate with the Fall Frenzy 150 championship on September 20 for the Stock Heavy and Clone Heavy divisions.
In a change from years past when the Modifieds would just run timed hot laps on Friday night’s portion of the Outlaw 200 weekend, this year to add excitement, teams signing in the pits will be running four 15-lap Outlaw qualifiers making it all-out racing that the fans come to see. How will these races work on October 4?
The countdown is officially on for the 28th Annual Outlaw 200 Weekend on October 4-5. In the next month we will be looking back at the stars and cars that help build it into one of the most prestigious Modified races in the entire Northeast. We will also be looking forward to this year’s event as we get set to add a new winner to the history books.
The seventh annual Oswego Kartway Classic was a rousing success as a part of Budweiser Classic Week at Oswego Speedway this past Thursday evening. A Kartway record of 105 entries signed in for the Classic event, ready to take on the tight clay oval in extra distance A-Mains.
The Oswego High School golf team continues to perform well on the links, the tennis team started out with a victory and the Lady Bucs soccer teams went into action this past weekend.
