Graham Racing announced this week their intentions to field a Novelis Supermodified entry for winged sprint car veteran Jessica Zemken in the 57th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200 at Oswego Speedway on Labor Day weekend. Zemken will join Sheila Hayes and Jennifer Chesbro as the only women to attempt to qualify for Supermodified racing’s most historical and largest paying event.
For the first time in several weeks, Oswego Kartway was able to run an event without the threat of rain, and as a result competitors turned out in great force with 97 racers signing in last Friday evening. Kartway veteran Corey Norton continued his winning ways in the Open division on Friday as he collected his sixth main event win in eight starts this season.
Just one week after rolling over the Four Sevens Motorsports No. 74, Mike Bond returned to Oswego Speedway’s Turning Stone Resort Casino Victory Lane as a part of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Night presented by Bosco & Geers Food Market and Oswego County Federal Credit Union.
After a few runs to figure the car out, that change has paid off. The last time the Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modifeds ran at the Brewerton Speedway on August 9, Wight grabbed a win in one of two 35 lap features run. Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway Wight was the class of the field parking his new Troyer in victory lane once again.

In preparation for round three of the Supermodified Triple Crown, which is comprised of the Hy-Miler Sandusky Speedway Classic – the Budweiser International Classic at Oswego Speedway – and the Star Speedway Classic, the 2-Seat Supermodified will take to the Star oval for a limited number of winged rides September 6 and 7.
Since 2008, only two different drivers have won Novelis Supermodified track championships at Oswego Speedway. On Saturday, as a part of Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Night presented by Bosco & Geers Food Market and Oswego County Federal Credit Union, Joe Gosek and Otto Sitterly will continue their back and forth battle for ‘Steel Palace’ supremacy.
The City of Fulton Fall Softball League is currently accepting registrations for men’s, women’s and co-ed softball teams. Many slots are still available. Registration deadline is August 24.
