Senior goalie Andrew Hare (Burlington, Ontario) tallied 18 saves for his school-record 10th career shutout as the No. 2/5 Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (19-3-0, 12-1-0 SUNYAC) skated to a 4-0 win at Buffalo State Friday night.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (10-10-1, 8-5-0 ECAC West) made a late charge in the third period, but came up short in a 2-0 loss to third-ranked Elmira (19-3-1, 13-2-0) Friday night at the Campus Center Arena.

Senior Kassie Kleine (Cazenovia, N.Y.) connected on the first five three-pointers she attempted on Friday night to lead the Oswego State women’s basketball team (15-7, 9-6 SUNYAC) to a 47-34 victory over host Cortland (10-11, 8-7 SUNYAC).

The Lady Bucs bowling team earned a berth in the Section III Tournament while the hockey team tied visiting Cazenovia and the jayvee girls’ basketball team won again. In action this weekend the wrestlers are at Onondaga Community College for the Section III Championships.

Mike Murphy Racing announced that it has tabbed 2012 ISMA SuperNationals champion Tim Jedrzejek as the pilot of its No. 60 Hawk Supermodified chassis at Oswego Speedway in 2013.

A pair of Oswego High School athletes had a very notable week. Cory Keefe captured Section III Class AA crowns in two events while bowler Matt Clemons paced the Bucs with the high average among all league bowlers.
