Oswego Kartway was officially voted as CNY Karting’s 2013 ‘Track of the Year’ late Sunday night. The vote, which included input from several area racers, teams, and fans, came right down to the very end with the Kartway nearly edging Frozen Ocean Speedway by a mere three tallies.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team stuck with No. 1 Plattsburgh throughout the entire contest, but the Lakers were kept off the board for a second straight game as they lost, 2-0, on Sunday.

The line of seniors Chris Brown, Chris Ayotte, and Chris Muise compiled seven points to help the No. 5/6-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (13-3-0) defeat Nazareth (5-9-1), 4-1, as Laker head coach Ed Gosek recorded his 200th career win.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (7-7-1, 6-3-0 ECAC West) was simply overpowered by top-ranked Plattsburgh (12-0-1, 6-0-0) in an 8-0 loss Saturday at the Stafford Ice Arena.

Before the 2012 edition of Grand Prix Night at Oswego Speedway, Mike Bond had 26 career SBS wins to his credit. None of those previous wins however were likely as memorable, or long lasting, as his last lap heroics on June 30 of last season.

Chris Gilkes scored a career-high 24 points and nabbed a crucial steal down the stretch to power the Oswego State men’s basketball team to an important 79-69 conference win over Buffalo State on Saturday.

Cold shooting and turnovers plagued the Oswego State women’s basketball team (11-2, 4-1 SUNYAC) as the Lakers dropped their first conference game of the season to Buffalo State (6-7, 2-4 SUNYAC), 62-38.

The Oswego State wrestling team (3-6) wrapped up competition at the Budd Whitehill Duals with a 20-18 loss to John Carroll and a 38-3 loss to Thiel on Saturday.
