The No. 1-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (6-0-0, 5-0-0 SUNYAC) erased a two-goal deficit to defeat Buffalo State (2-5-1, 1-4-1 SUNYAC), 5-4, Friday night at the Campus Center Ice Arena.

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Football program held its end-of-the-year awards ceremony at APW High School on November 10. Coach John Jeffries thanked the players and their families for their support for the football program this year.

The Speedway and Eagles Fan Club presented monies and awards to the top point getters and achievers in each division, while Mitchell’s Speedway Press inducted six into the Oswego Hall of Fame.

Oswego State sophomore goaltender Bridget Smith (Hamburg, N.Y.) has been named the ECAC Women’s West Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 12.

Senior captain Kyle Sheridan (Syracuse, N.Y.) provided some late heroics at 285 pounds to give the Oswego State wrestling team (1-0) a 21-18 comeback win over visiting RIT (0-1) Saturday afternoon.

The Oswego State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams suffered a pair of losses to New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (2-3-1, 2-2-0 ECAC West) played an aggressive game against Potsdam (1-4-0, 1-2-0 ECAC West), but was shut out 2-0 in the end Saturday afternoon.

The Oswego State men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up the 2012 season after competing at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by the University of Rochester at Genesee Valley Park on Saturday afternoon.
