A balanced offensive attack throughout the lineup propelled the second-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (4-0-0, 3-0-0 SUNYAC) past Geneseo (3-2-1, 2-1-1 SUNYAC), 10-1, on Saturday.

The Oswego State women’s swimming and diving team earned its first win of the season, posting a decisive 127-76 victory over Clarkson in a short course pool on Saturday. The Laker men tied the Golden Knights 115-115.

Michael Gentilcore (Jr., Rochester, N.Y.) was crowned champion at 133 pounds to help the Oswego State wrestling team place fifth after the Lakers posted 98.5 points at the 29th Annual Ithaca Invitational on Saturday.

The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team (0-2-1, 0-1-0 ECAC West) lost its first conference game of the season after Utica (1-0-0, 1-0-0 ECAC West) posted a 3-1 win on Friday night.

Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (3-0-0, 2-0-0 SUNYAC) posted its second straight shutout after defeating Brockport (1-3-0, 1-2-0 SUNYAC), 2-0, Friday night. Golden Eagle goalie Jared Lockhurst kept the home team in the game by making 39 saves, but the Laker offense proved to be too much in the end.

Senior captain Hayden Ward (Montauk, N.Y.) scored 22 points, guiding the Oswego State men’s basketball team to an early lead that it maintained throughout Friday’s 67-51 exhibition win over Queen’s University (Canada).

Oswego Speedway officially announced its 2013, 15-race weekend schedule featuring the Novelis Supermodified and Pathfinder Bank SBS ‘Road to the Championship.’ The aggressive campaign will once again begin the first weekend in May, but with a twist.

The next stop for the Oswego High School boys’ varsity volleyball team will be the Section III Class AA championship encounter against Baldwinsville on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Cicero-North Syracuse High School. On Thursday night before an enthusiastic crowd the Bucs won their 15th match of the season in a three-game sweep of Cicero-North Syracuse.
