Budweiser International Classic Weekend is just a little over one week away at the famed Oswego Speedway. Make your plans now to attend one of the biggest racing weekends in the country, and no doubt the biggest Supermodified race in the world.
A kids fishing class held jointly by local fishing author Spider Rybaak and McGrath & Associates Carp Angling Services on Aug. 18 drew a field of 22 children to Lake Neahtahwanta on Fulton’s west side.
The victory lifts Oz’s record to 7-4, clinching a winning record in each of the league’s first two seasons. The Salty Broads dropped to 6-2 on the year.
This special event will showcase and reward the Modified and 358-Modified track champions of the more than 30 tracks in the northeastern United States and Canada, as well as the track promoters that operate them.
While many competitors will be on Oswego’s asphalt for the first time, there are some experienced hands. Current competitors Adam Cantor, Payne, Cabral and Doug Cleveland were all on hand when supermodified ace Chris Perley won the last NEMA race at Oswego in Don Berrio’s #2.

The 602 crate Sportsman division took to Oswego Speedway for the first time on Sunday, August 19 for a test and tune session leading up to the Sportsman Classic, which will be run as a part of Budweiser International Classic Weekend on August 31.
