The Oswego State softball team (14-21, 8-10 SUNYAC) tallied three runs in the fourth and fifth innings to earn a 4-3 come-from-behind win at Oneonta (12-24, 5-13), but lost the second game 9-0 in five innings on Sunday.
Danielle Citro (Jr., Miller Place, N.Y.) tied the game early in the second half, but the Oswego State women’s lacrosse team (4-9, 0-7 SUNYAC) faltered down the stretch in a 20-13 loss to host Fredonia (14-3, 7-1 SUNYAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Oswego State softball team (13-20, 7-9 SUNYAC) continued its season trend of splitting decisions against conference competition by winning game one, 4-3, before losing game two, 2-1, at New Paltz (14-26, 6-10 SUNYAC) Saturday afternoon.
The Oswego State baseball team scored the game-winning run in the top of the sixth inning for a 3-2 victory in game one and exploded for five runs in the top of the seventh to earn a 6-2 win in game two of a doubleheader at Fredonia. Despite the wins, Oneonta wrapped up the final spot in the league playoffs by winning both games of its doubleheader.

The Lakers have a chance to reach the SUNYAC playoffs if they can sweep the final doubleheader tomorrow (April 28) and Oneonta loses two games at Brockport. A split on Saturday would leave the Lakers on the outside of the SUNYAC playoffs.
Oswego athletes are in full swing as there have been numerous successful teams and individuals during the early portion of the spring sports season. The Oswego girls’ track team, picked up its first win of the season Tuesday, beating the host Lady Cougars of Corcoran by the score of 79-61.
Thirteen different players scored as the Oswego State women’s lacrosse team (4-8) went on to defeat SUNY Canton (2-9), 23-5, in the final home game of the season for the Lakers on a rainy Thursday afternoon.
The combination of rains this week and wet grounds the Brewerton Speedway has cancelled tomorrow night’s racing program at the “D-Shaped Dirt Demon.”
