After a very successful season the Oswego High bowling teams are anxiously awaiting this year’s Section III Tournament on February 18. The teams wound up the regular season on Thursday at the Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego against visiting Central Square.
The girls’ bowling team is Sectional III Tournament bound while the boys’ remain unbeaten. Meanwhile, the hockey team captured the Division II regular season crown while the varsity boys’ basketball squad captured its 13th win of the year.
A pair of pins and two overtime wins helped the 13th-ranked Cortland Red Dragons out-wrestle the Oswego State Lakers, 31-6, on senior night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
The 18th-ranked Oswego State men’s basketball team found itself in the No. 2 spot in the East Region in the first NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Regional rankings of the season that were released this afternoon.
The Oswego High School boys’ varsity basketball team and swimming squad continued to win while the hockey team saw a three goal lead disappear and had to settle for a tie. Meanwhile, the wrestlers are battling in post season tournament competition.
The line of Paul Rodrigues, Jon Whitelaw, and Luke Moodie recorded six goals and seven assists to help the second-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team (17-2-2, 10-0-2 SUNYAC) defeat Morrisville, 8-1, Saturday night at the IcePlex.
Meagan Stover’s layup with 32 seconds remaining pulled the Oswego State women’s basketball team within two points of Cortland, but the Red Dragons were able to hold on for a 63-60 win Saturday afternoon.
