The Campus Center Ice Arena at SUNY Oswego will host the Pathfinder Bank Oswego Hockey Classic on Thursday, December 30 and Friday, December 31, 2010.
The newest members of the Oswego High School Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducted on Dec. 29. This will be the third “class” to be inducted into the sports hall and though small in number it is high in quality.
It was close, but Fulton’s team strength overcame some strong individual performances from an Eastern New York team to win the Tri-Valley Tournament in Camden.
Fulton’s 191 points edged Queensbury, with 175 points.
While people are out shopping and enjoying the holidays the staff of the Brewerton and Fulton Speedways are busy at work pushing forward for the 2011 season.
The Oswego State men’s basketball team forced 18 turnovers and registered seven blocks and ten steals in a 70-53 victory over Morrisville State on Friday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium.
Jake Metcalf paced the varsity Buc basketball team to its first win of the year while the bowling and wresting teams were in action on Tuesday night.
The ice hockey team scored its third one-goal win of the year, the girls’ varsity basketball team split and the boys’ basketball team lost a heartbreaking overtime decision. Meanwhile, the wrestling team was also competing as the first full winter sports weekend kept the Oswego Bucs busy.
Fulton wrestlers captured five of the weight-class championships as the Red Raiders edged out a win in the 13-team Waterloo Invitational over the weekend.
Phoenix also won five weight-class titles, losing a sixth, en route to a 3rd place finish.
Hobart handed the top-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team its first loss of the season in a 5-2 decision Saturday night in Geneva.
