Cayuga CC Fulton Campus Welcomes New Nurse, Stephanie Goodell

FULTON, NY – Stephanie Goodell of Panther Lake, NY, was inspired to pursue a nursing career after her younger brother was injured in serious car accident and she learned to care for him during his rehabilitation.

She had no previous medical experience, but two years later, she decided to enroll in nursing school, earning her license in 1986. She graduated from Crouse Nursing School, and became a registered nurse (RN) in 1992.

She worked in rehabilitative services and family practice for eight years, school and college nursing for 10 years, and occupational health for the past five years.

“My experience dealing with the different populations enhances my assessment skills but also my ability to help people through difficult times,” Goodell said. “I am very excited to be here working with the diverse student population and all the nice employees at Fulton. I love working with students and the hours were attractive.” Goodell has three grown children, and in her free time, she enjoys walking, boating, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

“We saw her as a great fit for the job in Fulton because of her friendly demeanor, her years of experience as a healthcare provider, and her background in working in educational environments,” said Maggie Killoran, associate vice president and dean of CCC’s Fulton Campus. “Stephanie enjoys people and will do a great job not only serving students, but also reaching out to the entire campus to provide educational opportunities for everyone.”

Goodell replaces Stephanie Muraca, who worked at the Fulton Campus part-time for four years before leaving to pursue a full-time position elsewhere.
