ONEONTA, NY — The State University of New York Athletic Conference announced the 2018 All-Conference team in the sport of volleyball today. Earning honors as a Third Team selection was SUNY Oneonta sophomore Clara Culeton (Oswego).
Culeton, who started in 30 of Oneonta’s 31 matches this season, is being honored for the first time by the conference coaches.
“I am incredibly happy for Clara to receive this honor,” said Head Coach Ashley Coyle. “Throughout the course of our season, she was a constant offensive and defensive leader for our frontline. Clara is a competitor and a player who can get the job done in the moments we need it most–a role that Clara has grown into for our program. Clara’s presence on our team has been momentous to where we want this program to grow.”
Culeton had a breakout season pacing the Oneonta attack with a team leading 309 kills, which was third in the conference. She also led the Red Dragons with 80 blocks ranking fifth in the conference.
She led the entire SUNYAC with her .338 hitting percentage, which is tied for fourth best in a single season.
The Red Dragons finished the season 14-17 overall.
