CNY Arts Center Plans Grand Opening Month

FULTON, NY – With a new location, CNY Arts Center kicks off a month-long slate of events to launch the new partnership with Cayuga Community College.

Located in the River Glen Plaza on Route 481 South, in the former Fashion Bug retail store, CNY Arts Center hosts its first art show open to the public on November 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and November 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In addition to cash prizes in each of five categories, the public will be invited to choose their favorite for an additional cash prize awarded to best in show.

An open house weekend begins November 22 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the downtown Arts in the HeArt Gallery, which remains open at 47 S. First St.

New artists with handmade original gifts will be available.

The Holiday Open House will continue November 23 from noon to 3 p.m. at the new facility.

Guests will enjoy touring the new facility and take home a handmade ornament in a tradition begun with the very first Holiday Open House.

A special Author’s Spotlight featuring a new book by Diane Sokolowski will be held November 23 at 3 pm. at the conclusion of the Holiday Open House.

Diane’s new book based on her experiences running a bed and breakfast will be discussed and available for signing.

The book is entitled “So, I wanted to run a Bed and Breakfast (was I crazy?)” and will be featured alongside Diane’s artwork.

Kids Onstage wraps up the month’s festivities with The Wizard of Oz running December 12 through 14.

More than 30 children onstage perform the popular production with evening performances at 7 p.m. on December 12 and 13  and 2 p.m. matinees on December 13 and 14.
