FULTON, NY – CNY Arts Center is excited to add Douglas McCall as pianist/accompanist to the line-up for its upcoming benefit cabaret, Songs of the Seasons on March 2 at 8 p.m. at State Street UMC, 357 State St.
McCall holds degrees in music education from SUNY Potsdam and Ithaca College and has been a middle school and high school choral teacher for the past 15 years.
He has directed theatre at both the middle school and high school level.
His directing credits include Annie Jr., Fiddler on the Roof Jr., Into the Woods Jr., The Music Man, My fair Lady, The Wiz and many others.
Active as a vocalist and actor, his recent theatrical work includes Pastor Gunderson/Music Director for the Encore Presentations production of Church Basement Ladies and the Governor/Innkeeper for the Sal City Production of Man of La Mancha. Most recently he played Mr. Feldzeig in the Baldwinsville Theatre Guild Production of The Drowsy Chaperone to the stage.
Songs of the Seasons will present an evening of song and poetry with seasonal themes, lavish desserts and an array of raffle items from local artists and area businesses.
The fundraiser cabaret will benefit arts programming at CNY Arts Center committed to promoting the arts throughout Central New York.
“We’re excited to present this first cabaret – a nice evening with familiar songs and a relaxed intimate atmosphere,” said Nancy Fox, CNY Arts Center director. “We’re making use of our facility for all interests and artists. This is an opportunity for our performing artists to share their vocal talents singing the songs we know and love.”
