HANNIBAL – Dozens of Hannibal High School students were recently honored during a year-end ceremony celebrating student achievement and extracurricular involvement.

Scholarships and awards totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars were presented to juniors and seniors who met a variety of criteria. Award-winners were recognized for academic excellence, scholastic achievement, character, leadership, musical talents and more.
“I congratulate each and every one of you,” said Principal Stephen Dunn as the ceremony began. “Thank you for your hard work … which will lead to your future success.”
Throughout the evening, students earned dozens of memorial awards, presidential and state scholarships, and 11 scholarships sponsored by the Hannibal chapter of Dollars for Scholars.

Each DFS scholarship was valued at $500, with some potentially having matching funds.
Also during the evening, the top 10 students in each class were recognized.
In addition to the top 10 graduates, the following students were recognized:
Kiersten Abbott, Derek Cuyler, Jeffrey Fellows Jr., Emily Goodman, Sierrah Haas, Eliana Horning, Abigail Kyle, Kiersten Lathrop, Madison LeVea and Katie Pitcher (Class of 2018); Owen Calkins, Zachary Gombas, Velvet Howland, Allyson Jones, Hannah Kuc, Rebecca Marsh, Sean Mason, Ashlee Norris, Nichole Oleyourryk and Christina Thompson (Class of 2019); and Christabella Bennett, Joseph Cerrillo IV, Alexis Cook, Nathan Crego, Savanah France, Hannah Heald, Kelly Loveland, Zachary Shortslef, Erica Stauring and Bradley Wiggins (Class of 2020).
