Alliance Bank Partners With Farnham For Music And Art Benefit

OSWEGO, NY – Alliance Bank has partnered with Farnham Family Services, an Oswego-based non-profit, chemical dependence outpatient substance abuse clinic, as a $1,000 sponsor of the Farnham Unplugged: Rock The Arts Event.

It’s scheduled for Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at The American Foundry.

“We are very pleased to have a strong community partner like Alliance Bank join us as a sponsor,” said Jeanne Unger, executive director. “We are grateful for their contribution to our November event, and the leadership our business community continues to provide our agency.”

The Farnham Unplugged: Rock The Arts Event will be this year’s largest fundraising benefit for their Changing Lives Capital Appeal. The agency’s goal for 2008-2009 is $50,000.

The event will be showcased with a variety of CNY musical performances from singers/groups including: Dave Wolever, Gypsy Red, Joanna (Nix) Jewett, N. Riley Heagerty, and special guest drummer John Bletch.

The emcee for the evening will be Tom Ciappa.

A silent art auction with items featuring regional artisans will also be up for bid throughout the evening.

Artists that have committed work thus far include: Kevin Abbott, Debe Abbott, Sandy Clift, Philip Clift, Bert Leighton, John Crouse, Michael Tari, and VanSuydam Photographers.

“In addition to the wonderful musicians, we wanted to showcase the talented artisans that we have in the area,” said Unger. “Their help by making donations to the art auction will directly benefit the families and children of Central New York.”

According to Unger, all donated artwork for the event will be accepted/selected at the discretion of the Farnham Event Committee.

All types of artwork, sculptures, photography, etc. are encouraged for submission/consideration.

Advance sale tickets are available for $25 per person and $35 for tickets purchased the day of the event.

According to Unger, Farnham Family Services is also calling on individuals, businesses, and corporate partners, to help their non-profit organization continue to “change lives” in the Central New York community by considering a bequest in the way of a donation or by attending their annual event.

Established in 1971, Farnham Family Services is a United Way agency that offers prevention services, school-based student assistance and treatment services to all residents of Oswego and surrounding counties.
