Students from grades pre-kindergarten through fourth grade at Altmar Elementary School delighted their audience with chorus performances intermingled with a retrospective performance of The Adventure of the Silver Star, a recreation of the 1937 old time radio series called The Cinnamon Bear.

Altmar’s third grade class wrapped up their choral interlude with “Do You Hear What I Hear?” featuring an electric guitar solo by Dylan Waite. Many songs featured fun artistic embellishments including synchronized dance moves, musical instruments and solos.

From the student’s handcrafted props and period-themed costumes to recordings from the original radio series, the auditorium was transported back in time to the winter of 1937 as spectators followed the progression of the Cinnamon Bear story between choral performances by each grade level.

Beginning with the Universal Pre-Kindergarten classes who donned their favorite pajamas and slippers to sing “Making a Snowman” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” the audience was taken on a magical journey to Maybeland in pursuit of the missing Silver Star, meeting a colorful cast of characters along the way.
